Notice for customers operating NCR ATMs on Windows 10 LTSC 1607
Microsoft had originally announced that support for Windows 10 (specifically version LTSC 1607) would officially end in October 2026. After this date, systems running this version would no longer receive security updates, patches, or technical support from Microsoft. Continuing to operate on an unsupported platform could expose your financial institution to increased security risks, compliance concerns, and potential audit risk.
Recently, Microsoft & NCR announced that they are offering Extended Security Updates (ESU) which will allow critical Windows updates for up to three years, for an annual fee.
